It's raining!

Alright, as you can see, I have made a sudden switch in languages. Why? A few reasons. One being that I have family in the states that seem keen on seeing what's going on around here, which I find quite understandable. If someone else was having an excellent time in Thailand, I probably would like to know about it! Or maybe not...

One other major reason is that talking english here is becoming quite natural to me, and I like writing in that particular language. Thusly, here I am, writing in english. I'm sure most of you back home in Sweden know english well enough to read this anyway, so it shouldn't be much of a hassle. But if it is (Helena, Helene...), do post a comment with your complaints and I shall take them under consideration.

Anyway, back to the title of this entry. It's raining. It was raining cats and dogs, as they say in Britain. We were out on our motorbike, on a holy quest to get Lisa a handbag, because I was getting quite sick of having to carry everything around, and then being blamed for losing it. So, she and I came to the mutual understanding that she should also carry some kind of device which would allow her to carry essential stuff around. I figure, if I carry the tobacco, and some money, I'm all good.

Now, what the hell do you do on a island, mainly built around sunbathing and wateractivites I might add, when it's cloudy and rainy? Our initial plan was to go out to a smaller island just on the northeast coast of Koh Tao, to se a underwater coralplace called "Japanese Garden", which is supposed to be very beautiful. We then enden up meeting a swedish couple - which we first met in Bangkok, then on the bus down to Koh Phangan, then on Koh Phangan and now on Koh Tao! - who told us that the weatherforcast said "Shitty weather. Rain. Thunder. Lightning.". I'm now quite so brave as to go on a boat with big waves and then snorkling with the possibility of lightning so we said "Fuck this"
(Excuse my french, but you're going to have to get used to it. I like the F-word.) and hung out with the swedes instead. We showed them a bar called High Bar, whose only purpose of being named that is because it's location is on a steep hill. Honestly. It's quite true. After showing them this quite beautiful bar, we went to another bar/restuarant, with a pool, and had a chat and ate some good food.

Then they in turn took us on a motorbike ride and showed us a cabaret which will be tonight at 10PM, with ladyboys. So, our plan for the moment is take it easy for a few hours, head out and get some good eating (no thaifood today, thank you very much) and then watch grown men dressed as girls dance around for 90 minutes. I'm quite sure alcohol will be involved in this little endevour, but have no fear! I shall not drink and drive! If I do drink, I'll take a taxi then go get the bike tomorrow. I'm THAT responsible.

For you english speaking newcomers, let me give you a brief summary of our trip so far. And as the Grateful Dead would say, "What a long, strange trip it's been.".

1. Got involved and hung out with a thai family at our bungalow resort on Koh Phangan. I suspect they had some "connections". What I do know they had, was a cute little puppy called Phaad Thai. For the uninitiated, Phaad Thai is a thaidish. I found this quite hilarious and laughed quite abit at it, as I thought they were joking. They weren't though. I felt I had enough love for the puppy not to order that particular dish at that place again. It would suck in quite a few ways to have a paw magically appear in your food. They were very good people though, and I got to help the older man - he hardly talked english - with his fishingnets when he came back one night with his catch. I also got to patch him up, as a crab decided to have a go at his finger. He then gave me some bananleafs to smoke tobacco in. Quite an intereting taste!

2. Got to be involved in a police razzia, here on Koh Tao. The owners of the bar we were sitting at were illegal burmese immigrants. They also sold marijuana, which is a tad illegal in Thailand. By a tad, I mean a shitload. So, sitting there, talking having fun, I hear the sound of handcuffs in the night. Turning around, I see these police searching through the bar, looking for, I'm assuming, drugs. I talked to the burmese guys the day after, and this one guy was arrested, being unlucky enough to have a small bag of pot on him. The others didn't though, so I guess they were lucky. The guy got out onn bail for 45.000bhat, which would roughly be 900 dollars, and is probably back at the bar as I write this. Or maybe not. Not worth the trip in the rain to find out.

3. I don't know... alot of stuff has happened. I'll just keep writing in english most of the time and you can follow us from the convenience of your computer at home. Kind of like an exotic adventure, without leaving your seat.

The mosquitos are coming out, they usually do at around 6PM, when the sun goes down, and I want to go put some repelant on. They're a fucking pest, but usually they're only out in swarms for 30 minutes or so. After that, the occational pest will show up, which you can, or won't, take a pleasure in swatting flat against the palm of your hand. I just did that. I took some amount of pleasure of it, as well. The bastard probably wanted to give me duengefever. Now, he'll never have the chance.

Anyway, to sum stuff up. Now, I'm gonna go have an amazing massage. It costs me 5 dollars. Expensive, right? That's for an hour. Maybe a footmassage today.

Ok, the bastards are getting to me and even though I've slayed two and left one permanently maimed, they keep coming. Stupid little shits, hehe. Alright, keep reading and you shall read from me later.

Simon, wet but actually clean, for once.
